Health & Safety – Vaccine Requirements and More

@ 4:54 pm

It is extremely important to us to do everything possible to ensure the health, safety and well-being of everyone who comes through our doors. It is essential that anyone who feels unwell should stay home. We understand that everyone’s experience with the pandemic is unique, and we want to try to make accommodations to make everyone as comfortable as possible. We hope that if you are not able to attend the Project’s productions and events in-person, that you will take advantage of some of our digital streaming offerings.

Anyone wishing to participate in an event, in-person, at The 52nd Street Project, agrees to the following:

Even though the “Key to NYC” vaccine mandate for indoor activities has been lifted, most live performing arts institutions in the City, including The 52nd Street Project, have elected to maintain vaccination requirements for entry at our facility. Everyone eligible for vaccination (those older than 5 years-old) are required to present proof of full vaccination to gain access. This includes our staff, volunteers, and audiences.

“Full vaccination” means that on the day of the performance date, you are:

  • at least 14 days after your second dose of an FDA or WHO approved two dose COVID-19 vaccine, or
  • at least 14 days after your single dose of an FDA or WHO approved single dose COVID-19 vaccine.

Everyone who is eligible is strongly encouraged to get a booster. Proof of vaccination includes one of the following

  • A CDC-issued card recording vaccination information
  • New York State Excelsior Pass, or New Jersey State Docket
  • New York City Covid Safe App
  • NYC Vaccination Record: If you are fully vaccinated but lost your CDC Vaccination Card or need verification of your vaccine status, you can request a copy of your COVID-19 vaccination record from the NYC Health Department’s Citywide Immunization Registry.

For guests who are not able to be vaccinated due to having a pre-existing health condition, or a religious objection, one of the following will be required:

  • negative COVID-19 PCR test performed by a medical provider taken within 72 hours of the performance start time. The test results must clearly show the date and time of the test.  -OR-
  • negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time. The test results must clearly show the date and time of the test. This test may be performed by a medical professional or by using an over-the-counter testing kit.

If you are unable or unwilling to supply this documentation, you will not be allowed to enter the building.

Children under the age of five are not currently eligible for the vaccines. Therefore, it is imperative that they wear masks at all times when in the building, and that the family group strive to maintain social distancing as much as possible.

Masks are required for all guests, regardless of vaccination status.  Masks must be worn at all times while visiting the Project. There will be no concessions available during our performances, therefore there will be no exception to this rule. All masks must completely cover the nose and mouth and comply with the CDC guidelines for acceptable face coverings. We will supply you with a mask if you have forgotten to bring one.

By entering The 52nd Street Project facility, you assert that the following is true. If any of the following statements are not true, please stay home and stream the performance instead.

  • I have not tested positive for COVID-19 through a diagnostic test in the past ten (10) days.
  • I am not and have not recently experienced (within the last 48 hours) any new or worsening symptoms of COVID-19
  • I have not had close contact or proximate contact with any person(s) confirmed with a diagnostic test or suspected based on symptoms, to have Covid-19 within the past ten (10) days.

The Project has upgraded our HVAC systems to comply with CDC guidelines for hospital grade filtration, including MERV 13 filters, and have increased fresh outdoor air and air exchange to the greatest extent possible.

After each performance, high touch surfaces in both audience spaces and backstage will be cleaned in accordance with CDC recommendations. Once per day, the theater will be thoroughly cleaned. Hand sanitizer will be stationed throughout the theater. Upon entering The 52nd Street Project building, all patrons will be encouraged to use hand sanitizer (unless medically prohibited) and to go directly to their seat unless they need to use the restroom.
